Best waterfalls in Georgia, USA
I know sometimes life gets busy and when you need a brake from the everyday stress, what better way to unwind, than to be inmmerse in nature. Personally, I like to go waterfall hunting and luckily Georgia has many beautiful waterfalls to choose from. These are the best waterfalls to visit in Georgia. Some of these are very easy to get access to and some require some hiking.
Minehaha Falls
Minehaha Falls is considered the most beautiful waterfall on Rabun county. The trail to get to the fall is an easy .4 mile (round trip). Is a fairly easy, family friendly short hike.
Amicalola Falls
Of course, this one had to make the list. This is the tallest waterfall in Georgia, US with a whooping drop of 730 feet. I advise you, when you visit the waterfall go early because it's one of the most popular destinations on GA and it gets crowded.
Angels Falls
Angel falls is another beautiful waterfall located in Rabun county and also a double waterfall trail. Aside from Angels Falls you can find panther fall. This is a 1.75 miles round trip trail.
Panther’s creek
Panther’s creek is one of my favorite places, is one the first waterfall I visited in when I first moved to GA. To get to this waterfall you have a hike of a 7-mile-long trail (round trip)
Helton Falls
This double waterfall’s beauty makes it a fantastic, easy day hike for visitors to Helen or nearby Vogel State Park – and a makes it a great hike for families with kids. Also, a great spot to cool down on summer.
Ana Ruby Falls
My favorite double waterfall in Helen, Georgia. It’s a fantastic kid-friendly, stroller-friendly and dog-friendly hike! This trail is a .9 (round trip) paved path that’s easy to hike.
Toccoa Falls
Toccoa Falls is a waterfall with a vertical drop of 186 feet (57 m), on the campus of Toccoa Falls College in Stephens County, Georgia. This trail is a .6 (round trip) paved path that it's kid, stroller and family friendly.
Dick’s Creek Fall
A stunning 60-foot-high waterfall. Easy access with limited parking just adjacent to the creek and the falls so no hiking involved. Kids can enjoy wading and playing in the cool water around the bottom of the falls. Great place to enjoy a sunny day and it’s FREE. The trail is fairly easy at 1.2 (round trip).
Cloudland canyon state park
Located on the western edge of Lookout Mountain, Cloudland Canyon is one of the largest and most scenic parks in the state. There are 600 stairs, but if you pace yourself on the way back up it isn’t that big of deal. It is very much worth it.
No matter which you choose to visit I'm sure you are going to be delighted with the view. It's always nice to take some time and admire mother earth's work. These are my favorite waterfalls in Georgia SO FAR. There are countless of trails, and waterfalls in Georgia to satisfy your waterfall cravings. Be sure to remember to always take your garbage with you. I’m sure the next one will appreciate the gesture. Happy exploring y’all!
