Amicalola Falls
Currently in the top of my list of waterfalls in Georgia, US. Amicalola Falls it's located in the North side of GA in Dawsonville county. This place is amazing! When you first arrive you have to pay a small $5 fee to get in. As you go in, you'll find the visitors center; where you find information about the park, cabins and miscellaneous products. You will also find vending machines, the restrooms and a map of the park.
Getting to the Falls
At the beginning of the trail, you'll find a little well kept fish pond. At its side, you'll see the trail which will lead you to the waterfall. If you are out of shape or have health issues, I will advise you to not go up. In order to get to the waterfall you'll have climb 170+ stairs up but, believe me it's so worth it.
Getting to the top of the waterfall
Now, it's time to see the waterfall from the top. You'll have two options.
You can go back down and drive up to the top of the waterfall or
You can climb up the stairs to the top of the waterfall. There are 800+ stairs to the top.
If you decide for option 2; It is extremely tiring, I had to stop for a quick breath a couple of times and by the time I got to the top, my legs were shaking but I made it. Once at the top, you'll see a couple tables, a small creek and the view point. The view is outstanding and breathtaking. A perfect place to take pictures, walk, and just enjoy the marvelous work of mother earth. I recommend you go on fall season, you'll be able to appreciate the Red, Orange, Yellow, color that comes alive with this season. We are going to visit the Falls, this fall season and I'll update this post and add the fall pictures so you'll be able to see the beautiful compositions. If you get a chance to visit Georgia don't miss the opportunity to explore this beautiful park.
