Henna Based Hair Growth Mask
I’m always trying to stay as natural as possible and avoid as many chemicals as I humanly can so, today I’m bringing you a proven Natural Hair mask that’s going to make your hair softer, add shine and help you grow your hair. The main ingredient for this hair mask is Henna. This is a great natural product, it helps condition your hair making it thicker, shinny, and promotes hair growth. I always advise to buy organic henna as it is better for hair treatments. One thing to watch out is for the color of henna, you should look for a greenish color. Avoid at all cost black henna; it has a chemical known as p-Phenylenediamine (PPD), it is responsible for turning the natural reddish-brown dye henna gives to a black tint. This has numerous cases of people having bad allergic reaction to it, causing blisters and chemical burns so, it is best to avoid it.
Here is what you will need:
Henna
· 1 cup
Amla Oil
· 1 ½ tbs
Brahmi Oil
· 1 tbs
Castor Oil (Preferably Black)
· 1 tbs
Coconut oil
· 3 tbs
Tea Tree Oil
· 3-5 drops
Gloves
Vaseline
We are going to start with the amla and Brahmi powder. I did not have any oil made so I had to work with the powder but, do not worry it works just as well. You are going to take the 1 tablespoons of amla powder and place it on a small cauldron. Add 1/3 of hot water to it and stir until fully blended. I placed the fire on low while stirring the mixture so that it does not go cold. Once everything is blended put aside and start working on the Brahmi. For the Brahmi powder your going to repeat the steps of the amla. Except you are going to use 1 tbs of powder and of water. Once is fully blended, set aside. Put 2 cups of water in the cauldron and leave it to get hot.
Grab a mixing bowl put 1 cup of henna and start adding water. While you are adding the water, go ahead and start to add the other ingredients. Add the amla and the Brahmi powder but dont’t forget to keep stiring the mixture while you’re adding the extra ingredients.
Add the 3-5 drops of tea tree oil, 3 tbsp of coconut oil, and 1 tbsp black castor oil and stir until you get a soft consistency. You do not want it to be extremely runny, but you do not want a hard paste either. Once you stir and get to a good consistency, let the mixture cool down. Once it has cool down, it is ready for application.
Before starting to apply the product, I recommend you apply Vaseline to your face and any area the hair may touch and wear gloves. Remember this is henna, and it tends to stain in a reddish-brown color.
I tend to leave it an hour and a half, but you can leave it on your hair the amount of time you desire. To remove the hair mask just wash your hair with your regular shampoo. If the shampoo is chemical free, even better.
Once your hair is washed you will be left with a soft and manageable hair that last weeks.
Go ahead and give it a try. I love to hear about your results.
