Got Lost and found a Garden

The botanical garden, formally known as The Botanical and Cultural Garden William Miranda Marín, is the ideal place for nature lovers looking for a space where they can harmonize the centennial history of the Caribbean with an idyllic natural environment. I stopped by this place by accident. I was in Caguas, doing some errands and on my way back home I took the wrong exit and landed on the street that takes you to this garden. Since I had time, and I’ve never been, I decided to stop and visit the place . I paid the entrance fee of 6 dollars and explored the garden. This place is big, 60 hectares to be exact. It has an aviary, an aquatic garden, square craft, agricultural plaza, and so much more. I loved the old house, I gives you the feeling of entering a house from an old relative.

On your visit to the botanical garden, you will know the trees planted in the forests and groves, artisan agriculture and local traditions of cooking, homemade medicine and rural life. The Garden will also serve as a guidance and education tool. Special activities open to the community will include workshops on various topics ranging from plant cultivation and the preparation of home remedies to bird watching and the art of carving wood and stone. They also offer Yoga, Zumba, Belly dancing and Tai Chi which I’m definitely going to try out. I loved how taking the wrong exit got me to explore this beautiful and educational place which promotes much more than respect for nature, is also an exponent of the history of the country. I do hope you pay it a visit, even for a picnic, I'm sure you will have a wonderful time.
